Curator & Event Organizer

Partnered with the MSP Film Society to create Images of Africa, a curated film series celebrating the depth and diversity of African cinema. This initiative brought powerful African stories to Minneapolis audiences, with over 2,000 attendees engaging in screenings and discussions.

Objective:

To introduce audiences to authentic African cinema and facilitate discussions on African history, culture, and contemporary life.

My Role & Process:

  • Curated the film lineup, selecting a diverse range of African films.

  • Organized panel discussions & filmmaker Q&As to deepen engagement.

  • Secured community partnerships & funding, making the event widely accessible.

This series strengthened African film appreciation in the Twin Cities and built community connections around African storytelling.
